We love to observe people and their habits in our day to day work. We wanted to translate our observations of these habits into furniture ideas and lifestyle objects. With the notion of “habits die hard”, we discovered small additional touches to our daily furniture pieces that catered to our habits brought huge smiles to our faces. Designed as a private collection for the label Aboveground, we developed the Landscape series and produced them with an industrial twist to the designs.
This series revolves around habits of the users. The Landscape coffee table was designed with thinkers in mind, allowing them to have their caffeine fix as they contemplate their next big idea. The Loveseat is a double-seater that captures your habit of forgetfulness. It contains an iconic copper tray to hold your reading glasses or personal peripherals so that you would remember to remove them as you leave the bench.
This series of furniture were selected to represent Singapore in the 2013 Milan furniture fair, Tortona Design Week for the “Singapore Lah” exhibition. Hear from Rodney and the team for the ideas behind the designs in the video above!
